The Possibilities Program at Grace Christian Academy is designed for students with disabilities, such as Autism, Asperger, Down Syndrome and other learning challenges, who would benefit from a curriculum and environment enriched with functional skills for real world application. These skills would include daily living skills, adapted physical education, differentiated academic program, and opportunities for socialization with same age peers in the mainstream population of the school. A leisure skills component is also being utilized as a way to help students learn how to occupy their time in meaningful ways.
We have a beautiful SENSORY ROOM for our Students. Our Sensory Room is equipped with a Bubble Tower, Fiber Optic Lighting Cables and much more. We also have Speech and OT on the premises to work with your child. In the classroom, we have a home setting where students will learn how to wash clothes, put them away, make a bed, and sort laundry among many other things.
We will also be having cooking where we will teach them how to safely use the stove, oven, microwave and other household appliances. We are very excited about this addition to our already successful program.
We encourage our students to register with Vocational Rehab to get assistance in helping them find a job that is suitable for them to become more independent. Do not miss out on getting your child the best that he/she deserves.
